MS symptoms: You Don’t Look Sick…

GolfWin2014

My mother-in-law glanced at my golfing photo from my cruise and said, “Doesn’t look like someone on disability.” In response I kindly shared with her a post I read earlier today on a blog, “You don’t look sick… You don’t look stupid… Looks can be deceiving!” Now I am not for the negativity of the message, however, I do understand the frustration behind it. Simply stated, no I don’t look sick or like I should be on disability. The fact is, when I am not well people just don’t see me. So when they do, it seems like I am fine. MS is relapsing and remitting. You would think after 20 years I would have a good answer to such comments but I don’t. I feel self-conscious about not looking sick at times in my life.

Image is from the Hole-in-One Golf Tournament on the Royal Princess. I was just finishing my dance after making a hole in one! Yippee!
