MS symptoms: New Technology Improves Research Results

7TeslaMRIThe 7-Tesla MRI scanner is making news and coming soon. This new technology allows researchers to see far more detail providing them with a superior tool and doctors with better knowledge of the patient’s condition to diagnose and determine treatment plans. The 7-Tesla was used in a recent repeat study of Virchow-Robin spaces or VRS in multiple sclerosis patients. VRS are associated with neuro-inflammation. The study compared former research done with a 1.5 Tesla MRI unit. The results, all people have some level of VRS. The ratio of VRS is 4:11- healthy people: multiple sclerosis patients. Another piece of the puzzle of multiple sclerosis is on the drawing board thanks to the new technology of the 7-Tesla MRI scanner.
