MS symptoms: 10 Reasons to Smile

Smiling can improve our health and with MS I need all the help I can get! Fortunately for me, I am known for my smile. Always smiling, that’s me! About.com Healthy Aging posted “Top 10 Reasons to Smile” by Mark Stibich, Ph.D. from February 4, 2010.

Smiling:
1 – makes us attractive
2 – changes our mood
3 – is contagious
4 – relieves stress
5 – boosts your immune system
6 – lowers your blood pressure
7 – releases endorphins, natural pain killers and serotonin
8 – lifts the face and makes you look younger
9 – makes you seem successful
10 – helps you to stay positive

In additional to the above benefits, Charlie Pulsipher states that smiling can lower heart rate, relieve pain, put me in a better mood, increase productivity, help attention span and increase longevity.
